Haiti Relief : Solman Realty - Good Samaritan Foundation of Haiti 
Pam Solman with Solman Realty Corporation has been named Administrative Director of the Good Samaritan Foundation of Haiti. She is working relief efforts in the Caribbean coordinating deliveries of food, medicine and clothing due to the recent earthquake. A FREE food label reading workshop sponsored by Cat Wechsler and Juice Plus. Get straight talk about healthy choices for your family. Julie Berra, Wellness Educator, will show healthier, taste-tested options of some of your family’s favorite foods, and will send you home with empowering ideas to get your family on the right track.

Ciatano Winery at Rock n' River Resort
Aprovecha - Back to Basics Culinary Education Chefs , Chelsea and Susanna will again be preparing a delicious 5 course food and wine sampling evening for the winter season, with a little spicy Valentine flair. The ladies will also talk a little about the spices in creating a delicious winter evening menu, sure to warm everyone's hearts! We of course will be pairing premium Ciatano Wines. Coffee, dessert and a cash bar. Entertainment by Lyons' own Off The Tracks. Come celebrate Lyons' culture of giving and community spirit in a fun and festive atmosphere with old and new friends.
20th: Cheese making class at the Farmette
Come enjoy an afternoon of cheese! In our cheese making class we will discuss the broad spectrum of cheese from fresh to aged, stinky to mild, and bloomy to washed rind. We will focus on making cheeses that are easily made in the home including mozzarella, ricotta, and chevre as well as pairings for cheese.

20th: Community History Preservation Party
Three speakers will be presenting at the annual “Community History Potluck Party.” The key speaker is Bonnie Kohl, who will be doing a re-enactment of the life of Helen Hunt Jackson and reading from her short story “Georgetown and the Terrible Mine.” Michael Tovani, who has been a blacksmith for 17 years, will show a video of himself shoeing a horse. And, lastly, Marguerite Peoples, will show a video of the stores that burnt to the ground on Main St. and Fourth in Lyons.
Saturday, Feb. 20, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Walt Self Center (park on Railroad Avenue, not in the senior housing parking lot). $5 donation requested and bring a side dish to share. Or, $10 and no cooking.
